Sports Premium
School Games Award
I am pleased to say that in 2024, we were awarded the Silver School Games Mark. This recognises the commitment the school has made to delivering high-quality PE and school sport at Scarcliffe Primary School. To achieve Gold next year, we will be exploring our sports and curriculum offer through the lens of gender as well as exploring any school games interventions that we can offer to aid transition to KS3.
What is Sport Premium?
In April 2013, the Government announced new funding for physical education (PE) and sport. This funding should be used to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision. Funding is allocated to all maintained and state-funded schools with primary phase pupils, including: primary, middle, special and non-maintained special schools, academies and pupil referral units. Schools are free to determine how best to use this funding to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision, including increasing participation in PE and sport so that all pupils develop healthy lifestyles and reach the performance levels they are capable of.
How much funding did the school receive?
In 2020/21 the school received £16,800
In 2021/22 the school received £16,800
In 2022/23 the school received £16,780
In 2023/24 the school will receive £16,770
Chris Mellard-Sibley is the governor responsible for finance and this includes ensuring Sports Premium funding is well utilised.
How is the funding used and what impact has this had?
School is accountable for how this money is spent. The document below shows what impact the funding had on our school for the academic year 2022-23. We will evaluate the spending for 2023/24 and share this on the school website by the end of July 2024.
